Usage
[កែប្រែ]This template is used as a general control centre for the various category boilerplate templates used on the English Wiktionary. It contains one switch to select a parameter or setting, and a switch that selects the setting to be used for every template.
The following settings are currently used:
- format-basic
- The name format of basic categories. Possible values:
- languagename-label
- Each category contains {{{code}}} converted to a language name, followed by the label.
- languagename-pluralizedlabel
- Each category contains {{{code}}} converted to a language name, followed by the name of the label in plural (using
{{theplural}}). - scriptname-pluralizedlabel
- Each category contains {{{code}}} converted to a script name, followed by the name of the label in plural (using
{{theplural}}). - languagecode-label
- Each category contains {{{code}}} directly, followed by a colon and the name of the label.
- languagename-root-subcat
- Each category contains {{{code}}} converted to a language name, followed by the name of the root category. This is then followed by a slash and the name of the current label if the current category is not the root.
- format-umbrella
- The name format of umbrella categories.
- label
- The umbrella categories contain only the label.
- pluralizedlabel
- The umbrella categories contain only the label in plural (using
{{theplural}}). - label-bylanguage
- The umbrella categories contain the label followed by "by language".
- pluralizedlabel-bylanguage
- The umbrella categories contain the label in plural (using
{{theplural}}) followed by "by language". - pluralizedlabel-byscript
- The umbrella categories contain the label in plural (using
{{theplural}}) followed by "by script".
- umbrella-categorization
- How umbrella categories are to be categorized.
- fundamental
- Categorize all umbrella categories into a single fundamental category. The umbrella category of the root is sorted with **.
- parallel
- Categorize each umbrella category into the umbrella category of its parent, according to the label. This causes the umbrella categories to follow the same tree structure as the code-specific categories, and no fundamental category is used (it is just the root umbrella category instead). Each umbrella category will contain both the code-specific categories of its label and the umbrella categories of its child labels.
- The name format of the fundamental category.
- format-fundamental
- The name format of the fundamental category.
- all-pluralisedlabel
- The fundamental category contains "All" followed by the label of the root category in plural (using
{{theplural}}). - fromlabel
- Each label is queried for its fundamental parameter individually. This allows each umbrella category to be in its own fundamental category, rather than having one category for all of them.
- description
- The format of the description text above each category.
- description
- The description text consists of a custom description only.
- preamble-description
- The description text consists of a preamble that repeats the name of the label, followed by a custom description.
- labeltype
- Controls which subtemplates are queried for information about each label.
- subtemplates
- Properties for a label are queried to one subtemplate for each label, named identically to the label.
- single
- Properties for a label are all queried to a single subtemplate named ALL.
